For decades, Sokos Hotel Torni has been the meeting place for Finnish political and cultural movers and shakers. In 1931, the idea of Hotel Torni - with its 14 stories - was radical in a city where the population was rather sparse and buildings were kept low. Torni was Finland's first fully electric building - no wood or gas was used for heating or lighting. At the time, Torni symbolized something new and modern that brought hope of a better life. Today, Torni offers quality accommodation in National Romantic rooms or sophisticated Art Deco rooms.
Restaurants Restaurant Torni offers fine dining in an elegant and classy ambience. Torni Corner is a casual restaurant for a drink or a hearty meal. The Art Deco-style American Bar serves any imaginable cocktail. The 14th-floor Ateljee Bar - and its ladies' room - have the best view over the city.
