1. Architecture The stone buildings in Katajanokka, Helsinki. Villa Mairea in Noormarkku in western Finland is a private home designed by Alvar Aalto. The house is Artek founder Maire Gullichsen's contribution of Finnish design to the world. The wooden houses of Porvoo and Tammisaari.
2. Restaurants Kosmos and Sea Horse in Helsinki represent the traditional Finnish restaurant culture. These you won't find elsewhere.

3. Picking mushrooms in the woods At the summer cabin our meals go like this: get the potatoes boiling, grab a little basket, and hit the woods. The mushroom sauce will be ready by the time the potatoes are done.
